Destination Weddings in Los Cabos: A Guide to Getting It Right
Los Cabos has become one of Mexico’s most sought-after destination wedding locations, and it’s not hard to see why: golden-sand beaches, sunsets that look designed for photography, and a collection of luxury villas spacious enough to bring family and friends together in one extraordinary setting.
If you’re considering saying “I do” here, this guide walks you through the first big decisions.

Why choose a villa over a hotel ballroom?
Unlike a shared hotel venue, a private villa gives you:
- Total exclusivity: the property offers a private setting for your event, creating a more intimate experience for you and your guests.
- Built-in accommodations: close family can stay on-site, reducing transportation logistics between the venue and lodging.
- One-of-a-kind backdrops: infinity pools, oceanfront terraces, and private gardens create a distinctive natural setting for your celebration.
When’s the best season for a Los Cabos wedding?
November through May brings the most stable weather, with mild temperatures and a low chance of rain. If you’d also like your guests to enjoy some whale watching during their stay, January through March pairs ideal weather with peak whale season.
Choosing a villa for your event

Luna Cabo offers a select collection of villas available for private events, with options suited to celebrations of different sizes:
- Villa Estero: up to 30 guests
- Captiva: up to 50 guests
- Casa Bellamar: up to 100 guests
- Villa Bellissima: up to 100 guests
Event availability and setup requirements vary by property. An additional event fee applies based on the number of guests.
Our team can help you choose the villa that best suits your celebration, considering your guest count, event setup, and overall experience.

A few things couples don’t always think about in time
1. Permits and noise curfews: each residential area has its own rules around events and music.
2. Actual parking capacity: consider the space required for vendors and guests who aren’t staying at the villa.
3. Catering logistics: confirm whether the villa has the necessary kitchen facilities or if your caterer needs to bring additional equipment.
4. Event requirements: private events are available only at select Luna Cabo villas. Setup requirements, vendor access, music schedules, and other event guidelines vary by property and should be confirmed in advance.
5. Seasonal demand: dry season is the most popular stretch for a reason, and it’s also the most booked. Reserve at least 8 to 12 months in advance.
